Call for Volunteers
Join the Executive Committee of Youth IGF Canada!

Are you passionate about Internet governance and eager to help shape the future of Canada’s digital landscape? Youth Internet Governance Forum Canada (Youth IGF Canada) is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and innovative volunteers to join our Executive Committee—the decision-making arm of our organization.

About Us
Youth IGF Canada is a youth-led non-profit committed to building the next generation of Canadian Internet leaders. We are proud to serve as Canada’s recognized Youth IGF coordinator under the United Nations Global IGF National/Regional Initiatives (NRI) framework. Our past accomplishments include hosting the inaugural Canada Youth IGF, which welcomed a federal Cabinet Minister and provided a platform for young Canadians to engage in meaningful discussions about Internet governance.

What We’re Looking For
We’re calling on motivated individuals across Canada in the 18-30 age range to contribute their unique perspectives and talents to help us achieve our mission. Available roles include:

  • Special Events Coordinator: Plan and execute community-building events for the Executive Committee. Contribute to planning the annual Canada Youth IGF and any other events held over the calendar year.
  • Indigenous Engagement Coordinator: Develop strategies to increase Indigenous youth participation in Internet governance discussions. Build relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Communications Coordinator: Manage Youth IGF Canada’s social media platforms and public outreach. Create content to raise awareness of Internet governance issues among Canadian youth and opportunities in Internet governance for Canadian youth to take advantage of.
  • Official Languages Coordinator: Ensure Youth IGF Canada’s initiatives are accessible in both English and French. Promote linguistic inclusivity across all activities and communications.
  • Executive Members: Gain valuable experience in Internet governance and nonprofit leadership. Collaborate with a dynamic team of youth leaders from across Canada. Expand your Internet governance network by working on meaningful initiatives in the Youth IGF Canada Audacious Goals framework.

Youth IGF Canada meets biweekly on Sundays (timing determined by members’ semesterly schedules). All members of Youth IGF Canada are expected to commit up to four hours weekly of work to achieve our various Audacious Goals. Volunteers are expected to serve two-year terms in their roles.
